A fine Dutch blue Delftware baluster-form vase, hand-painted in cobalt oxide on a pale bluish tin-glazed ground. The central reserve depicts a dock, flanked by trees and a figure fishing on the opposing riverbank, all framed by baroque scrollwork cartouches and stippled panels. The sides are decorated with floral sprays in deep blue. The base bears the hand-painted signature YVDuijn, identifying IJsbrand van Duijn, a master painter at the De Porceleyne Schotel factory. One of the earliest (1598) and longest standing (193 years) Delftware manufacture.

Chip to the rim, small chips in the base, with glaze losses and minor abrasions consistent with age. Small firing imperfections and surface wear typical of period Delft.
