Blue Bohemia Trumpet Vase

Arched windows framed in gold reveal the brilliant cobalt of this vase, while motifs climb the body towards a tall trumpet neck in panels of blue and white. Below the neck, cobalt and white opaline panels, faceted and divided by gilt lines, narrow to a baluster body ringed with teardrop lenses, then spread again at the foot. This layered panel construction is a more elaborate take on the overlay tradition, consistent with Bohemian glasshouses producing for export. Unsigned, as most such glass was.

Good condition with wear to the gilt trim consistent with age. No chips, cracks, or repairs.
