Working design sheet drawing for a theatrical set labeled Soleil, presenting two staircase variants: at left, black risers dotted with white stars; at right, polychrome banded risers. The starry version is crossed through in graphite; the word “Imprimé” appears beside the colored version.

Romain de Tirtoff, known as Erté, transitioned from working with designer Paul Poiret to becoming a celebrated independent artist who created iconic costumes for major stars, designed lavish theatrical productions worldwide, and illustrated hundreds of magazine covers, ultimately earning recognition as the father of Art Deco.

Three perforations on the left, overall good condition, with handling creases, scattered spots/toning, a horizontal soft fold, minor edge nicks, and two filing holes to one margin (corresponding holes to the other on verso). Image area stable; colors fresh.
