A finely modeled Delft lidded vase attributed to Jan van der Wal — a potter and decorator active from the late 17th to early 18th centuries. The body features a village scene beneath scrolling cartouches, backed by complementary floral sprays on the reverse. The domed lid is crowned by a decorative lion ornament. Although worn in places, the piece retains its historical character and bears the signature of van der Wal — who served as master potter in the Guild of Saint-Luc from 1675, worked at the Cerf factory (1791–1793), and ran his own workshop producing blue and polychrome Delftware.
Surface glaze loss around the rim and foot, minor fritting, and visible amateur repairs near the base; structurally intact.
